Yasmeen obtained her undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Southern Maine and her master’s in occupational therapy from the University of New England. Before getting her master’s, she worked as a behavioral help professional, offering in-home support for children with disabilities and their families. In one of her fieldwork rotations, she worked in a rehabilitation program for clients recovering from a stroke, helping clients regain independence in daily activities. She completed her second rotation at Long Creek Youth Development Center. There Yasmeen worked with the youth, improving social, emotional, and functional well-being through engagement in occupations. Outside of work, Yasmeen enjoys reading, nature walks, arts and crafts, card games, and spending time with loved ones.
