Shannon Martineau, MOTR/L, is a full time occupational therapist at StoreySmith Pediatric Clinic. She graduated with a Master of Occupational Therapy degree from the University of Southern Maine in Lewiston, Maine. As a student, Shannon participated in an extensive evidence based practice project looking into the impact of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) on reaching developmental milestones. After graduating from the University of New England with her Bachelor’s degree, Shannon took a 3 year hiatus from schooling in which she worked at Walt Disney World in Florida for a year and volunteered with AmeriCorps in Maine schools for 2 years. During graduate school, Shannon spent 5 weeks volunteering in Zimbabwe with lions and elephants on a conservation project. After earning her Master’s degree, Shannon worked in Florida in multiple pediatric settings, including outpatient, natural environment, and school-based settings treating children with various disabilities. Shannon has experience working with children birth through 21 years of age and with a wide range of diagnoses including Autism, Soto Syndrome, Down Syndrome, Shashi-Pena Syndrome, and Epilepsy/Infantile Spasms. In her free time, Shannon enjoys traveling and exploring the world, spending time with family, friends, and her cats, and spending time in nature.
