Ella Hyland, COTA/L, is a per diem occupational therapy assistant at StoreySmith Pediatric Clinic. She earned her Associate Degree from Cape Fear Community College’s Occupational Therapy Assistant Program in Wilmington, North Carolina. Ella completed her Level II fieldwork rotations in both home health and inpatient behavioral health settings, and worked as a certified Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) in Maine prior to beginning her academic career. Ella enjoys working with children of all ages and diagnoses, and is passionate about building strong client relationships through creative, play-based interventions that promote engagement, independence, and quality of life. She values collaboration with therapists, families, and interdisciplinary teams to provide the highest quality care and to help clients strengthen daily living skills and achieve their goals. Outside of work, Ella enjoys writing, playing guitar, attending live music events, crafting, spending time outdoors, and being with loved ones.
