Amy has been practicing Occupational Therapy since 2000. For the majority of her career so far, she taught OT in a university setting, during which time she earned a PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences from University of Kentucky with a focus on youth andadolescent OT services in the child welfare setting. Over the past five years, she has worked primarily as a school-based therapist. Amy is passionate about OTs’ unique role in using an occupation-based and sensory-informed approach to supportchildren’s ability to engage in daily life activities. She holds a Proficiency Level 2 Certification in Sensory Processing from the STAR Institute, and a Basic Certification in DIR-Floortime from ICDL (International Council on Development and Learning). She is certified in the Size Matters Handwriting Program. When not working, Amy enjoys spending time with her husband and son in the outdoors hiking or canoeing, and alsoenjoys a quiet afternoon curled up on the couch with a good book.
