What is Speech & Language Therapy?

A speech and language pathologist works to help individuals develop the skills necessary to successfully communicate. Successful communication includes not only the ability to express oneself, but also to adequately understand messages and information being conveyed by others.

Our Pediatric Speech Therapists provide evaluations and treatment for:

  • Receptive language delays
  • Expressive language delays
  • Communication disorders such as stuttering and voice problems
  • Articulation and phonological disorders
  • Cognitive skills such as problem solving and reasoning
  • Augmentative communication
  • Oral motor difficulties

(We currently have an Evaluating SLP on staff, but not a treating SLP, so we will refer out for treatment if needed after the initial evaluation)

We have experience in evaluating and treating speech and language disorders related to:

  • ADHD
  • Autism Spectrum Disorders (Autism, PDD, Asperger's Syndrome)
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Down Syndrome
  • Learning disabilities
  • Non-Verbal learning disabilities
  • Developmental delays
  • Emotional disorders/mood disorders
  • And more…

(We currently have an Evaluating SLP on staff, but not a treating SLP, so we will refer out for treatment if needed after the initial evaluation)
